POW+IGN = Power (Fuel) + Ignition Advance (Increased Ignition Timing for more aggressive response and an increase of HP) ECO = Economy; NOTE: 2021+ EURO5 Models are not compatible with the fuel dongle, they will throw a check engine light. Fitment: KTM 690 Enduro/SMC-R (2019+) GasGas 700 ES/SM (2023+)
390 Adventure Vs 690 Enduro R. So I just bought a 2020 390 adv. I'm honestly not in love with the bike, it has a number of problems, but mostly I think its too heavy for city driving, as well as large and awkward for offroad. and it's very finicky at low rpms. However I really like the level of power offered on road.
The ktm 450 /129 camso in the posted pic is my other bike..I knew I wanted more hp so 701 was the highest hp bike that still seemed 'dirtbike' The mods made to the TS can easily be undone and made back to original. For me, the best thing about the 701 is the full on wideband O2 autotuner I installed. Perfect fueling any temp any elevation.
I am considering KTM 690 Enduro R vs. KTM 640 Adventure. Looking used I can find: KTM 640, well modified with steering stabilizer, new muffler, etc for ~$5500 KTM 690, modified with muffler for ~9500 (same price as new 2009 after the mark down, but with upgrades) Am I going to be jealous quickly if I try to save $4000?
What looked just right was a KTM 690 Enduro R, lighter than KTM’s big Twins but still with plenty of power (our last 690 Duke made 62 hp!) – and quite a bit lighter, an important consideration when it comes to balancing and picking up the pieces, a thing that seems to happen more frequently off-road. KTM says the 690 Enduro R weighs 315
I'm aware, well at least expect/hope the KTM will be head and shoulders above the KLR on trails/gravel roads. I've always said if the KLR had more power I'd still have it. The bike just rolled. It looks like the KTM 690 Enduro R is a 21st Century version of a 650 thumper, it certainly has a ton of HP. Thanks in advance!
